South Cotabato all set for Google Map Maker Summit happening tomorrow!

UPDATE! Everything is set for South Cotabato Google Map Makers Summit tomorrow June 9, 2012 at STI College-Koronadal City.

The event which is made possible by the Arts, Culture, Tourism & Sports (ACTS) Promotions Unit of the Province of South Cotabato, the South Cotabato Google Map Makers group, STI College-Koronadal, Google and SouthCotabato.Org and supported by the SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers is expected to gather around 50 participants which will be taught how to use Google Map Maker, its importance and uses in tourism promotions, disaster preparedness,etc.. There will be also actual MapUp session wherein participants will be taught of how to add and edit places in Google Maps. 



Among invited and confirmed participants were tourism and planning officers coming from different LGU's in the province, business sector, teachers and students from different educational institutions in South Cotabato and those involve in disaster preparedness.


Speakers to the South Cotabato Google Map Makers Summit includes blogger from Gensan Avel Manansala and Google Geo Advocate Berniemack Arellano. Members of the SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers are also coming to help facilitate.


Some importants reminders for those who have registered and is attending:

  1. There will be NO REGISTRATION FEE.
  2. Lunch and two snacks will be served.
  3. Venue will be the AVR of STI College-Koronadal. 
  4. Don't forget to bring individual laptops (fully-charged), there will be wi-fi internet connection to be provided by STI College- Koronadal.
  5. We also recommend to bring your own dongle (smartbro, globe tatto, sun broadband, etc.) . Your GPS-enabled phone would be helpful too. 
  6. Google will be giving map maker shirts and stickers to participants at a first come first serve basis, so come early- the workshop/seminar will start at 8am and ends at around 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon.

  2. this is good .i like to look at google map especially my parents place and it makes me happy to see the roof of  house even if i'm miles away. it is time to update the whole Phils. at google map.

  8. Magregister unta ko. Kaso wala man ko apil sa Committee, naghilom2 daw ko. Wala gud, diba tong naa ta sa Rob after meeting up with Lola Techie nagpahiwatig ko kung naay mapping event sa South Cotabato. Tsk2.
