The City of General Santos will be celebrating its 76th foundation anniversary and 26th Kalilangan Festival on February 27, Friday.
The day has been declared a special non-working holiday by Malacañan Palace through Proclamation No. 956, series of 2015 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. on February 2, 2015.
The special non-working holiday gives those working and studying in General Santos City a three-day weekend. Read the full text of Proclamation No.956 below:

MALACAÑAN PALACEMANILABY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINESPROCLAMATION NO. 956DECLARING FRIDAY, 27 FEBRUARY 2015, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF GENERAL SANTOSWHEREAS, Friday, 27 February 2015, marks the commemoration of the 76th Foundation Day anniversary and the 26th Kalilangan Festival of the City of General Santos;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of General Santos be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Friday, 27 February 2015, as a special (non-working) day in the City of General Santos.
