South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., President of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), has strongly denounced the killing of Ibajay, Aklan Vice Mayor Julio Estrolloso, a fellow PFP member.
The Vice Mayor was reportedly gunned down, with initial accounts pointing to an incumbent councilor of the same municipality as the alleged perpetrator. Governor Tamayo described the incident as a “deep affront to public service and to the principles of justice and peace.”
"Such acts of violence have no place in public service and in a society that upholds the rule of law. Leaders must set examples of respect, dialogue, and peaceful resolution of differences — never aggression or division," Tamayo stressed.
The Governor, speaking on behalf of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, extended his sincerest condolences to the bereaved family and to the people of Ibajay, assuring them of the party’s solidarity in this time of grief.
He also urged law enforcement agencies to ensure a swift, impartial, and conclusive investigation so that the perpetrators will be brought to justice without delay.
