South Cotabato Becomes First Province in Mindanao to Partner with BOI Under Green Lane Initiative

The Board of Investments (BOI) has formally sealed its first-ever provincial partnership in Mindanao with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, marking a historic milestone for the island’s investment landscape.

The agreement, signed on August 13, 2025, aims to fast-track strategic investments and strengthen South Cotabato’s position as a premier investment hub in the SOCSKSARGEN region.

Through this partnership, South Cotabato becomes the first province in Mindanao to collaborate with the BOI under the Green Lane initiative, in line with Executive Order No. 18. The initiative seeks to provide a whole-of-government approach in facilitating high-impact and inclusive investments, ensuring faster processing of strategic projects that will generate jobs, spur innovation, and foster sustainable development.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. expressed his optimism, noting that the partnership is a step forward in realizing the province’s vision of inclusive growth.

“This collaboration with BOI not only strengthens our investment climate but also assures our people that South Cotabato is ready to embrace opportunities that will uplift communities and improve lives,” Governor Tamayo said.

For its part, the BOI emphasized that South Cotabato’s proactive governance and strong economic potential make it a model for other provinces in Mindanao to follow.

The South Cotabato-BOI partnership is expected to accelerate key projects in renewable energy, agribusiness, manufacturing, and infrastructure, further cementing South Cotabato’s role as a driver of progress in the region.
