Kalilangan 2014 Online Photography Contest

I Love South Cotabato and SouthCotabato.Org once again partnered with Department of Tourism Regional Office 12 (DOT -12) in hosting another online photo contest, this time in line with the celebration of Kalilangan Festival 2014 in the City of General Santos.

Joining the contest is FREE, no registration is required and open to locals or visiting, amateur and professional photographers. Check out the contest guidelines below:

Kalilangan 2014 Online Photography Contest

Categories
Gensan Destinations Category (Open)
- Participant must only submit pictures of the following attractions/destinations in General Santos City:

• Nopol Hills/ Sanchez Peak
• MSU Museum
• K'laja Karst
• Queen Tuna Park
• Plaza Heneral Santos
• Sansapan Cave Falls
• Japanese Bunkers
• General Paulino Santos Museum
• Tuna Fish Landings at the Fishport
• Zip Line @ Brgy. Olympog
• Amsikong Falls

- A participant may submit 3 (minimum) to 5 (maximum) photos as entries in this category.
- Entries for this category must have been taken not earlier than January 1, 2014.

Prizes:
First Prize:                           P5,000.00 and certificate
Second Prize:                       P3,000.00 and certificate
Third Prize:                         P2,000.00 and certificate
Consolation prizes:             Two (2) winners of P1,000.00 each

Kalilangan Festival Category (Open)
- Photos in this category must be taken in any activities of Kalilangan Festival 2014. Schedule of Activities HERE.

Prizes:
First Prize:                         P5,000.00 and certificate
Second Prize:                     P3,000.00 and certificate
Third Prize:                       P2,000.00 and certificate
Consolation prizes:           Two (2) winners of P1,000.00 each

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. This contest is open to the public (residents and non-residents of General Santos City)
2. Both amateur and professional photographers may join.
3. NO registration is required in joining this contest.
4. A participant may submit 3 (minimum) to 5 (maximum) photos in each category.
5. Nudity, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, gruesome, and violent photos are automatically disqualified.
6. Only basic enhancements like cropping, resizing, and minor adjustments in brightness and contrast will be allowed.
7. Photos should not include watermarks, frames, or other markings on the photo, such as the date and time of the entry.
8. All entries must be the original work and owned by the participant and must not have been used or published in any media or posted online for whatever purpose.
9. Submission should be in .jpg or .png format and should be at the highest possible resolution and quality.
10. Photo Entries should be submitted through email  -- nanardxz@gmail.com not later than 12 MN of March 3, 2014. Include a title and a brief description of each photo.
11. All submitted entries will be posted at the following web pages:  www.facebook.com/12thParadise & www.southcotabato.org
12. All submitted photo entries will be judged based on the following criteria: Visual Impact & Effectiveness – 40 % Creativity & Originality – 30% Photographic Quality - 30%
13. Winners of the contest will be announced at www.southcotabato.org on March 16, 2014, Sunday.
14. The organizer reserves the right to cancel the contest in the event that an insufficient number of entries of suitable quality are submitted.
15. All submitted entries, winning or non-winning, shall become property of Department of Tourism XII and maybe published or used for promotional purposes by the organizer and DOT-12 with due acknowledgement of the original owner.
16. The decision of the Board of Judges is FINAL.
