A student from Tupi is Top 10 Best Public Schools Students

It pays to study hard and give your best in your younger years. A Tupi National High School Students (TNHS) has proven this as she brought honor and pride not only to TNHS but to Tupi as well for besting other public school students nationwide in the search for "Top 10 outstanding public school students in the country."

Dayanara Kreza L. Vargas, a 4th year student of Tupi National High School was awarded as one of the top 10 best public school students during the 4th Vice President Noli De Castro Academic Excellence and Exemplary Leadership awards at the Malacanang Palace last March 12, 2010.
Vargas together with her teacher Mr. Fortunato Bacus and her mother received the prestigious award in Malacanang. She has written a history for being the first TNHS student that received this kind of an award.

Her ourtstanding record not only Scholastic but extra curricular activities as well has boasted her chances to be on top of the other candidates. Aside from other requirements, like certificates, an essay about her experiences in high school and her Scholastic record (DepEd Form 137), she had undegone a nerve breaking final interview together with the other four finalists from all over Mindanao in Regional Education Learning Center (RELC) in Davao City.

She bested four other finalists in Mindanao and became the sole representative of the Mindanao Island in the national search, that eventually gave her the title to be on top over the other students.

Vargas received P250, 000 directly to her account and a monthly allowance of P3,000 while in college.
