SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers and Rotary Club Polomolok 101 Gift-giving and Medical-Dental Mission in Polomolok

Last December 18, 2010 Soccsksargen Bloggers and the Rotary Club of Polomolok 101 joined  forces to enliven the spirit of Christmas through gift-giving and medical-dental mission.

The Rotary Club of Polomolok 101 has a yearly  program called "Shoeboxful of Love" were their members has been collecting and saving used-but-still-usable items such as clothes, books, toys, etc. and distribute it to their chosen village come Christmas season each year, they have been implementing this for six years now. This year they partnered with the Soccsksargen Bloggers and have chosen the villagers in Purok Palakasam, a small community of 37 families in Barangay Palkan, Polomolok. A feeding program also took place, where children and the people lined up to have a cup of hot arroz caldo.

The group then proceeded to Purok 8, Barangay Kinilis, Polomolok, South Cotabato where the famous Civet Coffee is locally produced by the IP's. A medical and dental consultation was conducted by physician members of the Rotary Club of Polomolok 101, medicines were also given. The villagers,  composed mostly of indigenous people from the B'laan tribe also recieved used clothing, school supplies and snacks collected and contributed by Soccsksargen Bloggers group members.
