Cotabato Regional Athletic Association (CRAA) defended its boxing title as it emerged this year’s champion in boxing again sweeping all elementary and Secondary Divisions as the Palarong Pambansa ends  at the Jose Rizal Memorial State University Sports Complex.
CRAA won four gold medals, one silver and one bronze to romped in a boxing tilt for two consecutive years now.
Gensan’s Boxing Team powerhouse  led by Roldan Boncales snatched another gold medal this year in  light flyweight Division against Jon Mark Pajarito of Central Luzon in a boxing match at the  Gallera de Dapitan.  Boncales is expected to win in his weight division after he emerged as  a gold medalist in the 2010 Palaro in Tarlac City.  He  is offered to join the Philippine Team.
His other team mate Rabicyle Gabriel in Mosquito weight category also won gold against Jay Lord Alonzo of Region VI yesterday.  Martin Faderagao won the third gold for the region for defeating another boxer Raymund  Salmingo from region VI in the  Pinweight division, while Christian Pitt Laurente,  in the  Kiddiewieght Division also won against  Arjay Pasangan of  Region III.
Esneth Ray Domingo won silver in  the Ant weight Division when he lost by one point only against  Eljay Loreto of Region IV-B, while Regel Lou Alde settled for bronze medal in paper weight division.
Coach Crisanto Laurente said, the hard training they  endured prior to the palaro paid off.
“ We always follow the motto of our idol, boxing icon Manny Pacuiao, which is to “train hard and fight easy.”  Laurente said,
Cotabato region sweep the championships in all divisions which added another 30 point score to the over-all rating of its athletic delegation. (PIO South Cotabato)
