South Cotabato recently celebrated the 8th Provincial Indigenous Peoples' Day and the 16th Kastifun Festival with great success.
Held at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center in City of Koronadal last Wednesday, October 25, and was participated by members of different IP communities from all of the local government units in the province, the annual gathering aims to emphasize South Cotabato's deep appreciation for the indigenous tribes, their culture, and traditions.
In his message, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the indigenous peoples in the province for their unwavering support. He assured them that he is doing everything in his power to protect and provide them with a better quality of life.
The vibrant celebration brought joy to the attendees, paid tribute to indigenous cultures, and fostered a spirit of unity. It reflects the essence of South Cotabato as a province filled with culture, traditions, and unity.
In the coming years, it is expected that the celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day and Kastifun Festival will be even more successful, continually promoting an understanding and love for indigenous cultures and a more colorful South Cotabato.
"Dito sa South Cotabato ay wala nang diskriminasyon, anuman ang ating tribo at paniniwala, lahat ay pantay-pantay, lahat tayo ay South Cotabateños, " Governor Tamayo added.Through this celebration, it is once again proven that South Cotabato has no room for discrimination. Everyone, regardless of their culture, tribe, and beliefs, is regarded as equal South Cotabateños.
