South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. emerged as one of the top-performing provincial governors in the Philippines according to a recent survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD). The survey, part of the "Boses ng Bayan" national evaluation, aimed to objectively assess the effectiveness of governmental leadership across the country.
Governor Tamayo secured a commendable score of 90.28%, placing him among the top-performing governors. The survey recognized the efforts of provincial leaders in various critical areas, including Governance and Administrative Efficiency, Economic Development, Social Welfare, Public Safety and Order, Environmental Sustainability, Public Health, Education and Culture, Public Engagement and Satisfaction, Innovation and Technology Adoption, and Equity and Inclusivity.
Dr. Paul Martinez, Executive Director of RPMD, emphasized the pivotal role that provincial governors play in driving regional prosperity. He highlighted the comprehensive evaluation parameters, stating that the responsibilities of a governor go beyond routine administrative duties.
The survey, conducted from September 20 to 30, 2023, involved a demographically diverse group of 10,000 registered voters from various provinces, ensuring a high degree of accuracy with a statistical margin of error set at ±1 percent and a confidence level of 95%.
