The Governor posted a document dated November 20, 2023, with subject "Request for Presidential Proclamation," addressed to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin from Tereso Panga, the Director General of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
The letter from PEZA, recommends the proposed Tupi IT Park to be proclaimed as a Special Economic Zone. This move aims to foster a conducive environment for information technology businesses, attracting investments and generating employment opportunities in the region.
The Tupi IT Park is slated to be situated on a sprawling 15,000-square meter land in Barangay Poblacion, Tupi. This strategic location is anticipated to play a pivotal role in the growth of the Information Technology (IT) sector in South Cotabato.
