Over 8,300 South Cotabato residents benefit from AICS Program in 1st quarter of 2024

The Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato has provided essential support to 8,339 residents of the province during the first quarter of this year. This initiative, overseen by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Sonia L. Bautista, aims to address the urgent needs of individuals facing various crises.

In response to the growing demand for assistance, the province has bolstered its workforce by increasing the number of social workers. This strategic move is intended to streamline services and ensure prompt assistance for residents seeking aid.

According to data from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the breakdown of assistance availed includes 2,492 cases of medicine assistance, 999 cases of burial assistance, 4,352 cases of hospital assistance, and 496 cases of financial assistance.

Furthermore, a total disbursement of P39,619,474.00 pesos has been allocated for the AICS program from January to March. This significant investment underscores the government's commitment to supporting its constituents during times of crisis.

To enhance accessibility, the PSWDO has extended its operating hours everyday, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. With this adjustment, the office can accommodate up to 200 clients daily, ensuring efficient service delivery and timely assistance for those in need.

For inquiries or assistance, residents are encouraged to visit the PSWDO at the Provincial Capitol Compound in City of Koronadal during operating hours.
