South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. will continue to serve as the National President of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) until 2027, following a resolution during the party's General Assembly and National Convention held on September 16, 2024.
Governor Tamayo shared the update on his official Facebook page, reaffirming his commitment to leading the party alongside President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who serves as the PFP's National Chairman.
The General Assembly, which took place at Diamond Hotel in Manila, saw the participation of President Marcos, who emphasized the party’s focus on preparing for the upcoming May 2025 midterm elections. In his speech, the President stressed the importance of organization and readiness for the political campaign, encouraging all members to rally together for the upcoming political battles.
"I’m very glad that we can see that there is progress that is happening as we move on in preparation for --- well, filing is our next big event. And, we have now within the PFP organized ourselves properly so that we can already look at not only the personalities who are going to be involved, the personalities who are going to be candidates but also those who are going to run the campaign," Marcos said during his address.
The assembly also highlighted the introduction of the party’s new national officers for the 2024-2027 term, signaling a fresh start for PFP as it gears up for the elections. The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to delivering effective governance and continuing its service to the Filipino people.
Governor Tamayo, who has been at the helm of PFP since 2019, expressed his gratitude for the continued trust placed in him by the party’s leadership and its members, vowing to uphold the principles of the party and work tirelessly towards victory in the upcoming elections.
