Duterte Supporters Call Out Cong. Miguel’s "Return PRRD Home" Stunt Amid Loyalty to Romualdez

During the fiesta celebration in Brgy. San Roque, City of Koronadal last Sunday, 2nd District Congressman Peter Miguel loudly joined the call “Return PRRD Home!” in support of former President Rodrigo Duterte—but Duterte supporters were quick to call him out, branding his actions as nothing more than a desperate political stunt.

Their question: Where Do You Really Stand, Cong. Miguel?

Duterte Supporters Expose Miguel’s Hypocrisy

While Miguel now presents himself as pro-Duterte, his past actions tell a different story:

❌ He was one of the lawmakers who signed the impeachment complaint against VP Sara Duterte—Duterte’s own daughter!

❌ He is a known loyalist of House Speaker Martin Romualdez, one of the key figures being criticized for PRRD’s arrest.

❌ He allowed the office of Tingog Partylist (Romualdez camp) to be placed inside his own office—allegedly in exchange for ₱80 million in AICS (Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation) funds.

Duterte supporters didn’t hold back, questioning Miguel’s sincerity and accusing him of switching sides just for political gain.

Balimbing? Opportunist? Duterte Supporters Aren’t Buying It

With elections fast approaching, many believe Miguel’s sudden pro-Duterte stance is a calculated move to win back voters who are abandoning him.

But the backlash was swift. Netizens and Duterte loyalists took to social media, criticizing Miguel’s attempt to play both sides:

“Kung maka-Duterte ka talaga, bakit ka pumirma sa impeachment ng anak niya?”

“Duterte supporter daw, pero kapit-tuko kay Romualdez?”

“Mukhang hindi lang ‘Return PRRD Home’ ang kailangan… kundi ‘Return Cong. Miguel to His True Colors!’”

“Kapag may pera, loyal kay Romualdez… pero kapag eleksyon, biglang maka-Duterte?”

Desperation or Political Strategy?

Analysts suggest that Miguel’s declining survey numbers may be forcing him to ride on Duterte’s popularity in a last-ditch effort to salvage his campaign. However, South Cotabateños are not easily fooled.

His alliance with Romualdez, his betrayal of VP Sara Duterte, and his political dealings for financial gain have only further damaged his credibility.

The Verdict: Will Voters Fall for It?

As elections draw near, will South Cotabateños believe Miguel’s sudden "return" to Duterte’s side, or will they see through the opportunistic maneuvering?

One thing is clear—the people are watching, and they won’t forget.
