Gov. Tamayo on 2028 Speculations: “Basta kami dito sa South Cotabato, patuloy lang sa Tama at Maayos na Serbisyo”

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has reiterated his focus on governance and public service amid growing calls for him to seek the presidency in 2028.

“Basta kami dito sa South Cotabato, patuloy lang sa Tama at Maayos na Serbisyo,” Gov. Tamayo said, emphasizing that his priority remains the welfare of South Cotabateños.

Governor Tamayo has earned national recognition for pioneering programs that have not only uplifted lives in his province but also set a benchmark for good governance across the Philippines. His cashierless hospital system, which guarantees free medical services without upfront payments, has earned him the title “Father of Cashierless Hospitals” from a municipal mayor in Cebu.

Likewise, his free education program has produced more than 30,000 professionals and continues to support another 20,000 scholars, ensuring that South Cotabato builds a strong, educated workforce for the future.

Beyond these initiatives, Tamayo envisions South Cotabato as a model province, showing other local governments that programs anchored on transparency, inclusivity, and people-first leadership can be replicated nationwide.

He is also a staunch advocate for decentralization and federalism, stressing that empowering local governments with greater autonomy is the key to equitable and sustainable development across the country.

Gov. Tamayo’s leadership extends beyond South Cotabato, as he currently serves as President of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), President of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), Vice Chairperson of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), and Chairman of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP)—roles that cement his growing influence in both political and governance circles.

While his achievements and advocacies continue to fuel speculations about a 2028 presidential run, Governor Tamayo remains firm: his mission is to lead South Cotabato with integrity and to demonstrate how provinces can become models of Tama at Maayos na Serbisyo.
