South Cotabato LGU First to Deliver On-the-Ground Assistance in Cebu After Typhoon Tino

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has once again proven that compassion and solidarity know no boundaries, after becoming the first local government unit (LGU) outside Cebu to extend on-the-ground relief assistance to Talisay City, one of the areas heavily affected by Typhoon Tino.

Under the directive of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., South Cotabato’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) team personally turned over relief goods—including food packs, hygiene kits, kitchen utensils, and sleeping materials—to the City Government of Talisay to help families recover from the storm’s devastation.

In a Facebook post, Governor Tamayo shared that the initiative reflects the collective generosity of the people of South Cotabato and the province’s strong sense of unity with fellow Filipinos in times of need.

He further emphasized that this act of solidarity embodies his administration’s core principle of ‘Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo’ - a reminder that true public service reaches beyond geographic boundaries.

Through this humanitarian mission, South Cotabato continues to stand as a model of empathy and responsive governance, showing that the province’s heart for service beats for every Filipino.
