Festivals in South Cotabato this September!

Celebration continues in South Cotabato after the successful Tnalak Festival last July, here are upcoming festivals happening in the province this September.


1. Pinyahan Festival


Home to Dolefil's (Dole Philippines) cannery and processing plants, Barangay Cannery Site in Polomolok, South Cotabato celebrates the Pinyahan Festival every year to give importance to Cannery Site's main source of income - the pineapple. A street dancing competition on September 1 which is also Brgy. 2. Agten Tufi Festival


Now on it's 5th year, Agten Tufi (Beautiful or Bountiful Tupi) Festival is scheduled from September 1- September 11. It will kick-off with a civic parade on September 1 (Monday) at 7 AM, to be followed by an opening program and mass dance competition. In the evening, the popular Pinoy rock band Aegis will have also have concert to be held at the Tupi Gymnasium and Cultural Center. Among the highlights of this year's Agten Tufi Festival will be the Search for Mutya ng Tupi (Sept.9) and the Street Dancing Competition on the culmination day (Sept.11). 

3. Flomlok Festival



Flomlok, a Blaan word which means "hunting grounds" is a celebration which coincides with the Foundation Anniversary of Polomolok, South Cotabato. This year, Flomlok Festival is set from September 5 - 10, with Street Dancing competition to highlight the week-long celebration. Top bands like Parokya ni Edgar and rap artist Gloc 9 are said to be among the invited celebrities in this year's week-long Flomlok Festival. 11th F'lomlok Festival Schedule of Activities

4. Tuna Festival


A thanksgiving celebration in General Santos City in line with it's Charter Anniversary, Tuna Festival's main activities this year is set from September 5 - 13. Some of the events to watch out are the Tuna Float parade (Sept.5), the Guiness World Record Attempt for the Largest Fish Display at Gensan Fishport (Sept.11) and the Lawihan Street dancing Competition at the Oval Plaza (Sept.13).
