
The festive atmosphere in South Cotabato never stops, it is because of every municipalities and cities (Gensan included) has their own celebration or festivals.
Here are four (4) of South Cotabato festivals to be celebrated this month of September.
Home to Dolefil's (Dole Philippines) cannery and processing plants,Barangay Cannery Site in Polomolok, South Cotabato celebrates the Pinyahan Festival every third week of August every year to give importance to Cannery Site's main source of income - the pineapple. Now on it's 3rd year, Agten Tufi (Beautiful or Bountiful Tupi) Festival is scheduled this year from August 31- September 11. It will kick-off with a mass to be held at the Tupi Sports and Cultural Center on August 31 (Friday) at 8AM, and a civic parade on September 1. Highlights of this year's Agten Tufi Festival will be the Search for Mutya ng Tupi (Sept.9) and the Street Dancing Competition on the culmination day (Sept.11). 3rd Agten Tufi Festival Schedule of Activities
3. F'lomlok Festival
F'lomlok, a B'laan word which means "hunting grounds" is a celebration which coincides with the Foundation Anniversary of Polomolok, South Cotabato. This year F'lomlok Festival is set from September 5 - 10, with Float and Street Dancing competitions to highlight the week-long celebration. There will be also a concert at the new Municipal Gymnasium featuring Angeline Quinto, Christian Bautista and K Brosas on September 10 at 7pm. 9th F'lomlok Festival Schedule of Activities
4. Tuna Festival
A thanksgiving celebration in General Santos City in line with it's Charter Anniversary, Tuna Festival's main activities this year is set from September 5 - 9. Some of the events to watch out are the Tuna Float parade (Sept.5), Mr. & Miss Gensan Pageant (Sept.2) and the Street dancing showdown at the Oval Plaza (Sept.9).
