Dolefil, Touching Lives Through Community Programs

Since 1963, Dolefil has been changing the lives of thousands of South Cotabateños. Aside from contributing significantly to the local economy through taxes and by providing jobs and other opportunities, Dolefil also continues to touch the lives of the people of South Cotabato and neighboring places through its various community programs.

I've been a witness on how Dolefil implemented some of these community programs and can't help but be amazed with the sincerity and dedication of the company and its employees in helping in uplifting the quality of life in the community.

Chair For Trees by Dolefil. Colorful school chairs and kiddie tables
to different public schools and institutions
Take as an example the Dolefil Chair for Trees Project wherein Dolefil donates colorful school chairs and kiddie tables to different public schools and institutions which are fabricated by a local cooperative using the company's used wooden pallets. As a reciprocating action, the beneficiaries are required to plant and grow trees with the seedlings sourced from another local cooperative, providing seedling growers a sustainable source of income. Dolefil's Alay Gabay Program is another project of the company for the less fortunate that is worth supporting. Dolefil has provided mobility to persons with disabilities (PWDs) through the Alay Gabay Program. Thousands of wheelchairs have been distributed not only in South Cotabato but also in neighboring provinces of Sarangani and Sultan Kudarat. Read more about Dolefil Alay Gabay Program  HERE.

Newly repaired and renovated day care centers turned over by Dolefil last July in Polomolok
Another noble community program of Dolefil is its Light a Tree, Light a Life Program conducted every month of December. It is an inter-division contest with two parts, the fund raising and tree decorating. The fund raising is a race among all 9 divisions of Dolefil wherein Dolefil employees donates funds to purchase items for their identified charities. Dolefil will then tally the total amount raised by each divisions and matches it. The matching fund from the Light a Tree, Light a Life will then be used to finance projects that will benefit their recipient institutions. The Christmas Tree decorating contest uses the company’s scrap materials, used and recycled plastics, cans, etc. as Christmas decoratives. Read about last year's Light a Tree, Light a Life Program HERE.

Other worthwhile endeavors of Dolefil for the community are the Kapit Bisig Para sa Kabataan Program, it's annual Medical and Surgical Missions, Polomolok Task Force Kalusugan, Adopt-a-School Project, Dolefil MSU Scholarship Grant, Massive Tree Planting Activities, Pinyaskuhan and more.

Just recently, Dolefil have also turned over 6 newly renovated day care centers in Polomolok through its "Gintong Alay para sa Ginintuang Taon ng Dolefil. Gintong Butil ng Karunungan Alay sa Ginintuang Kabataan" Project.

The conduct of Dolefil Fun Run 2013: My Run. My Treebute last June participated by more than 12,000 individuals was another laudable project of Dolefil. It helped raise funds for its tree-planting activity wherein more than 50,000 seedlings were planted in different areas in South Cotabato.

With all these projects for the community, truly Dolefil has been very busy changing and touching lives of the South Cotabateños over the years.
