Marice Buer, 13 years old from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato won a gold medal for the Soccsksargen Regional Athletic Association (SRAA ) in the on-going Palarong Pambansa 2014 being held in the Province of Laguna.
Buer's winning throw of 10.10 meters in the shot put (elementary) event already earned her P15,000 cash, the incentive to be given by DepEd-12 to any athlete that could win gold medal in this year's Palarong Pambansa.
