DOT is now once again gearing towards the upcoming 26th Philippine Travel Mart, the biggest travel trade exhibition in the promotion and marketing of domestic and inbound tourism. PTM will be held at SMX Convention Center in Manila, on September 4-6.

This year’s staging is said to be the biggest and will offer better opportunities to exhibitors and generate more interest to the visiting public.

With the theme “The Philippines, the Fun Capital of Asia,” that embodies the objective of the event, PTM aims to increase the product and market base of the event.

PTM 2015 will highlight special events that will provide better appreciation and propagate of the Philippine culture and heritage through dances, songs, and creativity; Tour caravans; and ASEAN Regional Packages.

The Department of Tourism 12 will have one pavilion that will be shared by the cities, municipalities and provinces of the region and will showcase their different destinations such as river tubing in Maitum Sarangani, Diving in Lemlunay Resort, Paragliding in Safi Ranch, Cultural immersions in Lemlifew Cultural Village, Al Jamelah weaving center, New Israel and the community of the moncados a tour in Glan, GenSan Fishport, souvenirs of Kablon Farms, different trekking destinations of SIOK Falls in Koronadal City, Tawsuvan Falls, Asik Asik Curtain Falls, a dip in the waters of Hot and cold spring of Esperanza and Lake Agco, pilgrimage in Lake Holon in Tboli, Birds of Baras, Grand Mosque and brasswares in Cotabato City, and the muscovado processing plants of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

SOCCSKSARGEN experience offers adventure, culture, nature, and gastronomy. Dubbed as the 12th paradise of the Philippines, DOT 12 created tour packages for tourists to choose from to help provide seamless travel and linking them to accredited tour operators.

The region has had two international events held just this year, all are firsts in the country, the Paragliding Accuracy World Cup, followed by the International Folklore Festival. With a 2.7 Million tourist arrival in 2014, DOT 12 targets a 2.9 Million arrival for 2015.

“PTM provides opportunities of more arrivals both domestic and international that we will extend to our accredited entities, right now we are preparing them and we are coming to PTM in full force as one region. We’d like to think of events like this as our bond from accommodations, to travel agencies, tour guides, restaurants, and LGUs,” Dillera said.

Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) is the biggest association of tour operators and agencies that promote exclusively domestic and inbound tourism. It has a nationwide membership and has been at the frontier of Domestic tourism promotion, partnering with DOT, and its regional offices.

In connection with the just concluded Madrid Fusion Manila last April 2015, The Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) is pleased to announce that the yearly Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) will incorporate “ Flavors of the Philippines” within the exhibition.

A designated section of the Exhibition “ FLAVORS OF THE PHILIPPINES” will be set aside with 10 units of booth space ( 2 meters X 4 meters). This will be exclusive to the Regional culinary display which will include food demo and tasting.

DOT 12 has successfully participated in both Madrid Fusion and Flavors of the Philippines last March and April bringing SOX (nickname of SOCCSKSARGEN) Food tourism in the travel show Lakwatseros of GMA News TV and to the international gastronomic event in Manila.
