Lake Sebu, dubbed as the summer capital and eco-cultural center of South Cotabato, is celebrating its 34th Founding Anniversary today, November 11, 2017 and the culmination of the week-long Helobung Festival.
A first class municipality and one of the major tourist destinations in SOCCSKSARGEN, Lake Sebu is known for its numerous natural attractions, wonderful culture and exciting adventures. Lake Sebu is home to the Tboli tribe which are known for their tnalak weaving and their rich culture and traditions, its three (3) lakes namely Seloton, Lahit, and Sbu, the famous Seven Falls and Seven Falls Zipline Adventure and many more.
Helobung is a Tboli term which means merriment or unending joy. It is celebrated to give honor and respect to the spirits that give abundance to the tribe.
