UST- General Santos campus soon to rise

Here's an update regarding the soon-to-rise University of Sto. Tomas - General Santos Campus.

On October 25, 2017, LGU- General Santos in partnership with  University of Sto. Tomas, together with Barangay Ligaya officials successfully conducted a consultation and public hearing for the Phase 1 of the establishment of the University of Sto. Tomas- General Santos campus.

As reported at LGU-Gensan official page on Facebook, the said consultation and public hearing was attended by City Councilor Brix Tan, Engr. Bernadette Francisco of City Planning and Development Office, Fr. Dexter Austria, OP of UST, and the geodetic engineers from UST and DCCD Engineering Company.

The soon-to-rise UST-Gensan campus will be the second campus outside Metro Manila of the premier university after UST Santa Rosa in Laguna. The school site will cover an aggregate area of 79.9322 hectares reclassified from being agricultural to institutional land.

In April 2016, The Varsitarian, the official student publication of the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) has revealed the digital site plan of UST- General Santos. Check out below:

"With the advent of the UST, it is believed that it will bring the desired investment in infrastructure and labor that will boost the local economy with fresh capitals owing to the magnitude of physical construction and economic activities that will create more jobs", the LGU-Gensan report added.
