South Cotabato all set for Earth Hour 2012

South Cotabateños are all set to join this year's Earth Hour campaign against climate change on March 31, 2012.

The city government of Koronadal lined up initiatives in observance of the Earth Hour 2012 celebration. To include is a symposium at the new Koronadal City hall in the morning of March 31, an "Earth Hour Bike Challenge" and "Earth Hour 2012 Night Walk" which will be then followed by the traditional putting off of lights in major establishments in the city at exactly 8:30 in the evening. Below is the program for the Earth Hour 2012 celebration in the City of Koronadal.

Aside from the City of Koronadal, the city government of General Santos and the other 10 municipalities of South Cotabato will join the observance of Earth Hour 2012.

Earth Hour began in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and in just three years it has grown to be the largest voluntary mass-action event in human history, uniting billion of people worldwide. According to reports Philippines was ranked first in 2009, 2010, and 2011 in terms of Earth Hour participation.
