At a time of significant economic gains in the country, Region 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN) has emerged as one of the Philippines' brightest spots. The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) recently reported an 8.1% economic growth in the region, with General Santos City becoming one of the Philippines' fastest-growing and most competitive cities.
The area's growth has caught the eye of one of the country's largest insurers, AXA Philippines, which has organized a series of events in General Santos City to share career and business opportunities and advice on financial planning.
"General Santos City is fast becoming one of the country's most attractive destinations for investments, "said Rien Hermans, President and CEO of AXA Philippines. "We want to help the city sustain its current growth through investing in its people and through helping them plan for their different financial needs."
AXA Philippines has organized several activities for the benefit of the city's residents, including a Career Orientation Program, where interested parties can learn more about career and business opportunities available with the life insurer. It also organized "Fail Proof Your Future", a financial planning seminar that explored various financial needs and how to adequately prepare for them. AXA Philippines also moved to a bigger and better branch at Tri-Star Center in Santiago Boulevard, to better serve its current and prospective customers in the city.
"General Santos City is one of Mindanao's key growth areas," said Xenas Kintanar, Mindanao Zone Head for AXA Philippines. "We hope to provide people with the advice and the insight that they need in order to secure their financial future. We also looked forward to working with budding entrepreneurs who can be a part of our mission to help every Filipino attain financial stability and independence."
"The growth in this region has been inspiring," said Hermans. "Through these initiatives, we hope to encourage more Filipinos to make the investments that will help them achieve their dreams."
