General Santos City is all set for the celebration of Tuna Festival 2013. The week-long festivities will officially open on September 5, a Thursday and a special non-working holiday in General Santos City, it will last until September 9.
Various activities were lined up for this year's Tuna Festival which is already on its 15th year. On Thursday (September 5) which is also the 45th Charter Anniversary of the city, a flag raising ceremony in the morning will be conducted in front of the City Hall then will be followed by the Almusal Alay sa Kapwa at the Oval Gymnasium. The colorful Tuna Float Parade will happen in the afternoon in major streets of downtown Gensan and will lead to the Oval Plaza for the Grand Opening.
The Tuna Pasiklaban Streetdancing Competition and Disco sa Kalye will cap the Tuna Festival 2013 on September 9 still at the Oval Plaza. Other events of the Tuna Festival 2013 includes the Tuna Congress, Fish Fest at the Gensan Fish Port, Concerts, TunaFest Duathlon 2013, TunaFest Jetski Invitational Challenge, Skimboarding Competition and Bancarera at the Queen Tuna Park, and many other exciting activities.
