Philhealth clarifies issues to retired teachers of South Cotabato

The South Cotabato Retired Public School Teachers Association (SCRPSTA) chaired by Adelfa Espartero clarified from Philhealth some issues about the Lifetime Member Program (LMP) on its 3rd General Assembly Meeting held September 11, 2013 in the City of Koronadal.

Said association with more than 100 members hold its quarterly meeting for updates on matters affecting its members health and retirement concerns.

“We can still laugh, love and enjoy life like when we were young… so, let’s sustain the fellowship. Let’s attend meetings and learn more about what life has to offer including Philhealth,” she said

Nena Cocjin, LMP focal person from the Local Health Insurance Office of Koronadal said that Philhealth on the other hand, welcomes said retirees and provides special privileges including express lane from the moment they register up to the time they inquire their benefits from the office.

“As LMP, you are entitled to avail of the pneumococcal vaccine at Php600 only per dose from our accredited providers and on top of your Philhealth benefits, you have the 20% Senior Citizen’s discount then 12% VAT exemption from your total hospital bill,” Cocjin stressed.
Cataract surgery at 16k per eye was clarified to be admissible one day after another eye was operated but also requires pre-authorization from Philhealth through its accredited ophthalmologist.

Other services discussed include inpatient, outpatient, special packages, Z benefits, Millenium Development Goal benefits and others.

For auto deduction, principal members are just required to present their LMP ID and for the confinement of their dependents like legal spouse, children 20 years old and below and parents 60 years old and above, they must submit their updated Member Data Record.
