City of Koronadal celebrates 13th Charter Anniversary today!

The City of Koronadal adjudged as the 6th Most Competitive City in the Philippines for 2012 is celebrating its 13th Charter Anniversary and the culmination of the 3rd Negosyo Festival today, October 8, 2013. 

Yes, its been thirteen (13) years after Republic Act 8803  was signed on October 8, 2000 converting Koronadal to become City of Koronadal a component city of South Cotabato.

Activities for today prepared by the LGU inludes a Thanksgiving Mass to be held at Christ The King Cathedral at 5 AM to kick off today's commemoration to be followed by different activities in different venues within the city.

The PIGdiriwang or Lechon Festival will be held at Rizal Park around 6 AM, this will showcase the creativity and skills of the city's "lechoneros" in making the most delectable lechon (roast pig) in Koronadal.


At 8 AM different departments of the city LGU will offer their services including free skills training still at Rizal Park and a food handling seminar will be also conducted at EMR Center in Brgy. Morales.

 
The Kasalan ng Bayan will be held around 9AM in Rizal Park to be followed by the anniversary luncheon.

In the evening, there will be invited bands who will perform at Jaycees Avenue for the OctoBEER Fest and the foam party will start by 10 PM.
 
At around 11 PM, the major prizes for the 13th Charter Anniversary and 3rd Negosyo Festival PANGKABUHAYAN RAFFLE PROMO will be drawn at Jaycees Avenue. Prizes to be given includes a brand new motorcycle with sidecar, different appliances, groceries and many more.
 
It's also a Special Non-Working Holiday in the City of Koronadal as declared by Malacañang through proclamation No. 652, so Koronadaleños go out and celebrate.
