The Municipality of Sto. Niño, the rice bin of South Cotabato will be celebrating its 33rd Foundation Anniversary and the 14th Hinublag Festival this December. The celebration will be held from December 14-18, 2013 or a month ahead of the usual schedule which is usually during the 3rd week of January.
The LGU- Sto.Niño is now busy preparing for the five (5) day celebration. From the calendar of activities we have received, the opening program will happen in the morning of December 14, a Saturday at the Municipal Gymnasium right after the civic parade which will be participated by local officials, municipal employees, different schools from the 10 barangays of Sto. Niño and the private sector.
Celebrated in honor of the town's patron saint, the Sto. Niño, exciting events for the 14th Hinublag Festival includes the Search for Miss Gay, Kuliglig Parade, Search for Mutya ng Sto. Niño and the colorful street dancing competition.
"Hinublag" is another Hiligaynon term for celebration.
