The Municipality of Surallah received the Green Banner Award yesterday, December 3, 2013 from the Regional Nutrition Council for being the 2012 Outstanding Municipality in South Cotabato and 2nd Runner-up in 2012 Outstanding Municipality in Region 12 in the field of Nutrition Program Implementation, CDIP- Surallah reported.
According to the National Nutrition Council, the Green Banner Award is given to a municipality, city or province that has shown very satisfactory performance in implementing its nutrition program such as immunization and provision of supplemental feeding to malnourished children.
The Green Banner Award was received by Vice Mayor Pinky Divinagracia for the Municipality of Surallah together with Nutrition Program Holder Mrs. Aida Padernilla. Meanwhile, Mrs. Rosemari Pecto of Brgy. Veterans, Surallah was named as Best Brgy. Nutrition Scholar (BNS) in the Province of South Cotabato and 2nd Runner-up in Region 12. The awarding ceremony was held in Koronadal City.
