Two (2) South Cotabateños representing the Philippines emerged as Grand Champion in the recently concluded 6th Gatsby Dance Competition Asia Finals held yesterday, March 1, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
The tandem of Jay-r Melody and Macz Alminaza, members of South Cotabato-based dance group called Xtreme Dancers impressed the judges as well as spectators with their moves during The GATSBY Dance Competition 6th Asia Finals and topped the competition participated by a total of nine (9) teams from all over Asia. They received a cash prize of 500,000 Japanese Yen which is equivalent to more than 200,000 Philippine Pesos and the coveted gold medal.
The team from Indonesia called "Soul of Java" finished as 2nd runner up while "Siren" from Singapore bagged the 1st runner-up.
