South Cotabato teacher Top 1 in National Qualifying Exam for School Heads (NQESH)

Gilbert Barrera of Libertad National High School in Surallah, South Cotabato topped the National Qualifying Exam for School Heads (NQESH) also known as "Principal's Test" held last January 2014.

Barrera garnered a score of 99.96 to place 1st among 1,261 passers from all over the country.

Administered by the Department of Education (DepEd) and National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), the NQESH serve as a mechanism for selecting component school heads in the Philippines particularly in public basic education sector. 

The exam is open to all applicants who aspire for Principal I position. The main qualifications is that the applicants must have at least five years of aggregate experience as a head teacher, teacher-in-charge, master teacher and/or teacher III. The examination has 240 items which is answerable within four hours and is divided in two parts.
