PBA cancels Alaska- NLEX game in Polomolok, South Cotabato

Just when I'm about to get tickets for the scheduled PBA game between Alaska Aces and NLEX Warriors on February 7, 2015 in Polomolok comes the announcement from the Philippine Basketball Association that it was already cancelled.
PBA cancels Alaska- NLEX game in Polomolok, South Cotabato

In a report, the cancellation of Alaska-NLEX game in Polomolok was due to security issues more particularly the recent clash between the Special Action Forces (PNP- SAF) and BIFF-MILF forces in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

"In light of the recent encounter between police commando and separatist forces in Maguindanao, as well as the heightened security risks and threats posed by continuing insurgent activities in proximate areas, the Office of the Commissioner deems it prudent to cancel the PBA game scheduled in South Cotabato on Feb 7, 2015," said PBA Media Bureau Chief Willie Marcial in an announcement on Monday, February 2.

The Alaska-NLEX match will still push through on the same date Saturday, February 7 at 5PM but will instead take place at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
