Kulitangtang Festival is derived from a Maguindanaoan word "Kulitangtangan", which refers to the ringing of a bell during a gathering. |
The week-long Kulitangtang Festival was highlighted by a colorful street dancing competition which was won by the contingent from Tantangan Trade National High School, and the Kakanin Festival showcasing Tantangan's popular delicacy - the galapong or coconut rice cake.
There were also invited celebrities all the way from Manila who entertained locals and visitors alike namely Mark Herras, Luis Alandy, Joross Gamboa, Marco Gumabao, Onyok Velasco, Jordan Herrera, Matt Evans and Marco Alcaraz during the celebrity basketball friendship game last January 24; Mike Quinzon as guest judge during the Mutya ng Tantangan pageant; and Edgar Allan Guzman and Charlhone Petro during the culmination night and foam party on January 27.
