Discover Bakngeb River Cave in Tboli, South Cotabato

Tboli, a first class municipality in the province of South Cotabato known for its scenic attractions like Lake Holon which is dubbed as the "Crown Jewel of South Cotabato", the colorful Seslong Festival held every month of March, and for being home to Blaan and Tboli tribes has another offering to its tourists - the Bakngeb River Cave situated in Brgy. Laconon.

Officially  launched as one of the must-visit attractions in Tboli town last January 29, Bakngeb River Cave is a 4 kilometer subterranean river frequented by locals and tourists.

Bakngeb River Cave features a wide river pool in its outlet, has naturally cold and crystal clear waters which came from an underground cave system and natural rock formations. The river cave is also home to bats.

Visitors can enjoy swimming at the wide river pool at the outlet, go water tubing or ride a raft and explore what's inside Bakngeb River Cave.

How to get there

Bakngeb River Cave is situated in Sitio Bakngeb, Brgy. Laconon, Tboli, South Cotabato. The place can be reached through all types of land transport.

• If you are coming from General Santos City, take a bus enroute to Koronadal City. ( Travel Time: 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes, Fare: P90- P110)
• Then at the bus terminal in Koronadal, take a bus bound for Surallah. (Travel time: 30 minutes, Fare: P28- P35)
• At Surallah Integrated Transport Terminal, look for vans bound for Tboli. (Travel time: 30 minutes, Fare at P30-40)
• In Tboli, proceed to the Municipal Hall and register at the tourism office. After that, look for a habal-habal (motorcycle) to bring you to Bakngeb. (Travel time: 30 minutes, Fare: P40- P50 per person)

Where to Stay
Tourists who wants to stay overnight in Sitio Bakngeb can bring their own tents and go camping by the riverside or stay at the newly constructed Bakngeb River Cave Receiving Center for only P150 per person, there guests can request for native foods and experience Tboli culture.
