In line with its 24th anniversary, PhilHealth conducted the nationwide PhilHealth Forward from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao where acting President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Roy B. Ferrer made his presence available in Region XII on February 14, 2018 at the Veranza Mall, Gen. Santos City.
PhilHealth Forward is an institutional annual event where new and enhanced PhilHealth products and services are introduced to the public.
It is through this launching activity that members and stakeholders are given the same opportunity to witness the sealing of partnership, listen to the members’ testimonies and have a dialogue with the officers.
Members of the press are likewise given the chance to ask about the latest corporate developments.
It is in this light that APCEO Ferrer stressed to support the needed health care reforms and get involved in the discussion of the Universal Health Care program since it is the corporation’s desire to ensure that every Filipino shall receive affordable and quality health benefits, expanded service coverage and better quality health care.
Its salient point as explained by the Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Dr. Shirley B. Domingo is the members’ coverage of free check-up for all regardless of their membership category.
Since there will be wider coverage involving provision of adequate resources: health human, health facilities and health financing, it will take six months before everything shall fully be implemented since it’s Implementing Rules and Regulations is still underway.
Prior to said gathering, APCEO Ferrer had a dialogue with PhilHealth XII officers and employees where he shared updates on the status of the then UHC bill.
He lauded the employees’ performance on claims processing and collection efficiency and encouraged them to embrace integrity and honesty in the workplace.
He likewise got the chance to meet the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital Chief, Dr. Rogelio B. Aturdido, Jr. and inspected the hospital’s isolation area in connection with the measles outbreak.
