SM City Gensan plays part in this year’s DepEd National Schools Maintenance Week

SM City General Santos employees whole-heartedly volunteered and gathered in Banisil National High School Brgy. Tambler, General Santos City last May 24 to celebrate and participate with this year’s DepEd national schools maintenance week.

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide initiative of Department of Education that mobilizes thousands of parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, teachers, students, and individuals who volunteer their time and skills to do repairs, maintenance work, and clean-up of public elementary/secondary schools.

This nationwide caravan “Brigada Eskwela” through SM Cares was held simultaneously across SM Supermalls throughout the country. The SMGS team help out out in various patriotic tasks promoting “Matatag na Bayan Para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”.

This years’ Brigada was made more interesting as SMGS employees took advantage of the opportunity repainting classrooms’ wall, rehabilitate gardens, repair of damaged chairs and performed general maintenance. These act aims to promote a stronger and more resilient community by intensifying support to our public schools as per the fact that this institution molds the mind and transform our learners to become more productive and be the best version of themselves.

SM Cares is committed to helping make hundreds of public schools nationwide conducive to learning for students through the Brigada Eskwela program.
