Tamayo sworn in as new South Cotabato governor

Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. took his oath of office before Judge Lorenzo Balo as the new governor of the Province of South Cotabato.

Tamayo's oathtaking was held Friday, June 28 at the South Cotabato Gym in City of Koronadal which was filled with supporters. He was joined by his family, friends and former co-workers at LGU-Tupi where he served as mayor for nine (9) years.

Tamayo, who run under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), defeated outgoing governor Daisy Avance Fuentes by a margin of 27,000 votes during the May 13 midterm elections.

His vice mayor in Municipality of Tupi and party-mate Noel Escobillo who ran for board member in the 1st district also won.

Tamayo vowed to push for reforms in the benefit of the people of South Cotabato.
