South Cotabato Governor and League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) President Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. was among the dignitaries who attended the 8th Asia-Pacific Smoke-Free Meeting on October 27-28, 2022 in Baguio City.
Held at the Baguio Country Club, the event gathered some 140 delegates from different countries in Southeast Asia and serve as a platform to share best practices on smoke-free implementation and enforcement as part of a comprehensive tobacco-control and health promotion strategy.
In his message, Governor Tamayo encouraged LGUs in the country to support advocacies that promotes a smoke-free environment.
Organized by the Baguio City LGU, the Dept. of Health, World Health Organization in the Western Pacific Region and the SEATCA, this year's theme is "Rising amidst the Challenges: Strengthening and Sustaining Smoke-Free Implementation."
