Governor Tamayo attend multi-sectoral consultation- meeting on the development of Port of General Santos

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. attended the multi-sectoral consultation- meeting on development of Port of General Santos, Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Greenleaf Hotel in City of General Santos.

With participants coming from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), members of the Regional Development Council (RDC-12), local government units and the private sector, the consultation-meeting tackled issues and concerns regarding the situation of the Port of General Santos and its development.

During the meeting Governor Tamayo presented the province's development directions and concerns relative to the Port of General Santos. He also manifested the need to maximize the full operation and the urgent need to develop the said port to increase productivity and entice more investors not only for South Cotabato but also in other places in the region.

"The development of Port of General Santos will entice more investors to come to the region, do business, and provide more jobs for our people," he said.

Also present during the consultation is Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño Mendoza, the chairperson of the Regional Development Council, National Economic Development Authority XII Regional Director Teresita Socorro C. Ramos, InfraCom XII Chairperson Raymund Salangsang, DBM Regional Director XII Akmad J. Usman, and DSWD XII Regional Director Loreto V. Cabaya Jr., among others.
