Newest Member, Youngest Member: Alicia Nicole Cataluña Causing Sworn In as Sangguniang Panlalawigan member

Today, October 24, 2023 marked a significant moment in the political landscape of South Cotabato as Alicia Nicole Cataluña Causing, at the tender age of 25, officially took her oath as the latest addition to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by no less than Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. himself, who, in the presence of Provincial DILG Officer Atty. Rochelle Mahinay-Sero, officiated the event. The appointment that led to this ceremony was inked on October 20, when President Ferdinand "Bong Bong" Marcos Jr. signed the papers, designating BM Causing to fill the seat left vacant by her late mother, former Board Member Lyndale Marieta Cataluña Causing.

The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Vice Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy, Jr., Board Member Miguel Matinong, and some friends and relatives of BM Causing.

The young board member extended her warm appreciation to all those who supported and embraced her, with a special mention of Governor Jun Tamayo. BM Causing expressed her joy in continuing her mother's legacy as she embarks on her new role.

This occasion carried a sense of bittersweetness. On June 10, 2023, South Cotabato lost a remarkable public servant when former Board Member Lyndale Marieta Cataluña Causing succumbed to cancer at the age of 55. While her absence is deeply felt, her legacy lives on through her daughter, who is committed to serving South Cotabato with the same passion and dedication her mother exhibited throughout her life.
