Gov. Tamayo ousts defiant PFP officials, affirms leadership despite assembly drama

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., the National President of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), has announced the removal of several officials who defected from the party.

In a radio interview last Saturday, December 16, 2023, Governor Tamayo asserted that the dissenting members were no longer adhering to the party leadership's directives, leading to their outright dismissal.

The statement from Governor Tamayo comes in response to a recent general assembly organized by dissenting PFP members, where he was ousted as the national president. In this gathering, former Catanduanes Congressman Leandro Verceles, Jr., was elected as the new president of PFP.

However, Governor Tamayo labeled the group's actions as a nuisance, asserting that, based on the party's constitution and by-laws, he remains the legitimate national president of PFP.
