The South Cotabato Provincial Hospital has announced the inauguration of its latest initiative, the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Clinic, aimed at addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the community. Operational every Wednesday from 1 pm to 4 pm, the clinic offers free nephrology consultations under the expert guidance of Dr. Danille Emerald Galang, Head of the Hemodialysis Unit.

In a report, according to Supervising Administrative Officer Roditt Delfino, the CKD Clinic is a response to the community's limited access to specialized kidney care. "Poor accessibility to specialized kidney care has been a pressing issue in our community. The CKD Clinic represents a crucial step in addressing this gap and providing comprehensive care for individuals battling chronic kidney diseases," stated Delfino.

Patients interested in availing themselves of the clinic's services must register through the e-konsulta system at the outpatient department. Upon registration, individuals will receive laboratory requests and scheduled consultation times with Dr. Galang.

"Our commitment extends beyond consultations; we aim to manage comorbidities, prevent uremic complications, and explore options for Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT)," emphasized Delfino, highlighting the holistic approach of the clinic.

Nephrologist Dr. Danille Emerald Galang assured that the clinic would prioritize early-stage renal patients, emphasizing personalized care plans and prevention strategies. "Our goal is to intervene at an early stage, offering personalized care plans and preventing the progression of kidney diseases whenever possible," said Dr. Galang.

The establishment of the Hemodialysis Unit and CKD Clinic is a direct response to the growing demand for renal care services. "The demand for renal care services has surged, and it's our duty to address this need comprehensively," noted Dr. Conrado Brana, Chief of Hospitals.

Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr., a driving force behind this initiative, emphasized the urgent need for expanded healthcare services. "Recognizing the urgent need for expanded healthcare services, we have taken a practical step in establishing the CKD Clinic and Hemodialysis Unit. Our community deserves accessible and high-quality healthcare," stated Governor Tamayo.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable resource, seeking timely consultations and treatments for chronic kidney conditions. "The CKD Clinic and Hemodialysis Unit are not just facilities; they are symbols of hope and commitment to the health and well-being of our community," affirmed Governor Tamayo. The clinic's doors are open, offering hope and specialized care to those in need.
