Governor Tamayo partners with Manny Pacquiao, introduces South Cotabato Warriors in MPBL

In an exciting development for sports enthusiasts across South Cotabato, Governor Tamayo unveiled the formation of the province's basketball team, the South Cotabato Warriors, in the esteemed Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The announcement took place during the Monday Convocation Program at the Provincial Capitol on February 26.

Through a collaborative effort with former Senator Manny Pacquiao, the former Gensan Warriors has been officially named as the South Cotabato Warriors, symbolizing the province's resilience and fighting spirit.

Governor Tamayo proudly introduced the players and coaching staff entrusted with representing South Cotabato in the MPBL to provincial government officials and employees.

The South Cotabato Warriors engaged in a thrilling pre-season championship game against the reigning MPBL champions, the Pampanga Giant Lanterns, on February 27 at the Lagao Gymnasium in General Santos City. Despite a valiant effort, the Warriors narrowly missed clinching victory, but their resilience and determination were evident throughout the match.

The establishment of the South Cotabato Warriors not only ignites passion within the local sports community but also fosters a sense of pride and unity throughout the province.
