Governor Tamayo administers oath of nearly 1,000 elected local officials from Iloilo and Guimaras as new PFP members

Nearly 1,000 provincial, municipal, and city officials from Iloilo and Guimaras took their oaths as new members of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) in a mass oathtaking ceremony held at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City. The ceremony, held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 was led by PFP National President and South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr.

Governor Tamayo welcomed attendees with a warm orientation, emphasizing the importance of unity, dedication, and service to the people. His inspiring remarks set the tone for the event, underscoring the PFP’s commitment to transformative governance.

Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr. was in attendance and reiterated President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for unity and genuine leadership. Lagdameo highlighted the necessity of collaboration to achieve governance that benefits the Filipino people and ensures a prosperous, future-ready Philippines.

Distinguished guests included Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., Guimaras Governor JC Rahman Nava, and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, who witnessed his son Miguel Treñas join the PFP alongside other local leaders.

Governor Tamayo administered the oaths for provincial board members, mayors, vice mayors, and councilors, while Governor Defensor officiated the swearing-in of barangay officials. The ceremony also featured notable figures such as Uswag Ilonggo Partylist Rep. James Ang Jr. and former Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr.

Governor Tamayo highlighted the event's significance in creating unified and effective leadership across the region. “This ceremony marks a crucial step in our collective efforts to drive progress and development. Let us all be part of the solution and support our President in achieving his vision for the country,” he stated.

"Nagsama-sama tayo hindi lamang para sa darating na eleksyon kundi para sa maayos na delivery of services na nararapat lamang para sa ating mga kababayan," Governor Tamayo added during an interview.

In his closing remarks, Governor Defensor emphasized the significance of the oath-taking, describing it as a "total alignment" with President Marcos Jr.'s administration.

"We join because we want to contribute to development. We aim to strengthen the Philippines to help our president and the nation address threats like food security, climate change, and issues in the West Philippine Sea. Here in Iloilo, we believe that the best defense against threats is development, and we are committed to pursuing this with the President, his administration, and the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas,” he stated.
