Free Dialysis Now Available at Norala District Hospital, Polomolok Set for Next Opening

The Norala District Hospital celebrated the successful launch of its new Hemodialysis Unit on Monday, October 21, 2024. The facility is equipped with 10 brand-new dialysis machines that will provide essential, life-saving dialysis treatments to kidney patients from the towns of Surallah, Norala, Lake Sebu, Sto. Niño, and Tboli—completely free of charge.

The initiative, championed by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., reflects the provincial government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services, especially for rural and underserved communities.

In an interview, Governor Tamayo also announced the forthcoming opening of another Hemodialysis Unit at Polomolok District Hospital, which will also feature 10 dialysis machines. The new facility in Polomolok is expected to cater to patients from the 1st District, including the municipalities of Polomolok, Tupi, and Tampakan.

"The opening of the Hemodialysis Unit in Norala, and soon in Polomolok, will significantly reduce the burden on the Hemodialysis Center at the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, which has been operational since 2022," Governor Tamayo noted.

Healthcare has been a top priority of Governor Tamayo's administration, with consistent efforts to upgrade facilities, broaden access, and improve medical services for all residents. The governor remains committed to ensuring that even those in the most remote areas can receive quality healthcare services.

The launch of these new dialysis centers is seen as a crucial step towards alleviating the challenges faced by kidney patients in South Cotabato, ensuring that they receive timely and life-saving treatment closer to home.
