In a show of gratitude for the successful harvest achieved through the Consolidated Rice Production and Mechanization Program (CRPMS) of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, members of the Sto. Niño Integrated Farmers Cooperative (SNIFCO) from the municipality of Sto. Niño sold 200 sacks of rice at an affordable rate of P35.00 per kilo at the Provincial Capitol.
The rice sale, which took place recently, was warmly welcomed by Capitol employees and residents who were able to purchase high-quality rice at a reduced price. The cooperative members shared that their average yield during the recent harvest reached eight to nine tons per hectare, a significant improvement attributed to the program.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., through a post on his official Facebook page, congratulated the Sto. Niño Integrated Farmers Cooperative for their achievement. The governor emphasized that the Consolidated Rice Production and Mechanization Program aims to boost the productivity of local farmers while lowering rice prices in the market.
“Congratulations to Sto. Niño Integrated Farmers Cooperative (SNIFCO), and thank you! You are proof that we can bring down the price of rice as long as our farmers work together, with the proper support from the government,” Governor Tamayo said.
The CRPMS continues to be a flagship initiative of the provincial government to enhance agricultural output and ensure food security by providing farmers with access to modern farming techniques and equipment. Through the program, the provincial government is committed to uplifting the local rice farming industry and helping reduce rice prices for the benefit of all South Cotabateños.
