Gov. Tamayo: Cong. Miguel’s impeachment decision does not reflect the will of South Cotabateños

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. has finally reacted on the decision of 2nd District Representative Peter Miguel to sign the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, emphasizing that the move does not represent the collective voice of South Cotabateños.

The governor expressed his concern over the widespread frustration among South Cotabateños regarding Miguel’s decision.

Cong. Peter Miguel has been under fire in recent days for his decision to sign the complaint, drawing backlash from many South Cotabateños and Duterte supporters who took to social media to express their disappointment.

Governor Tamayo stressed the fundamental responsibility of public officials to consult their constituents before making significant political decisions. He underscored that leaders must put the people's interests above personal or partisan considerations.

Governor Tamayo also emphasized the earlier statement of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. that an impeachment trial against the Vice President is untimely and will not benefit the Filipino people. He echoed the President’s sentiment that public officials should focus on addressing pressing national concerns instead of engaging in divisive political actions.

Governor Tamayo reaffirmed that elected leaders have a duty to serve with transparency and accountability, ensuring that every decision aligns with the welfare of their constituents.

He urged Representative Miguel to carefully evaluate his future decisions, ensuring they genuinely reflect the aspirations of the people he represents.

Tamayo concluded.

Governor Tamayo, known for his inclusive and people-centered leadership, continues to advocate for unity, transparency, and governance that prioritizes the welfare of South Cotabateños. His firm stance underscores his commitment to ensuring that the voices of his constituents remain at the forefront of policymaking and governance.
