The City Government of Koronadal has formally received the two newly constructed three-story buildings of the City of Koronadal Central Supermarket Complex. This ₱300-million infrastructure project is set to provide a modern and organized commercial space for around 120 vendors who were displaced by the devastating fire in 2017.
The construction of the new facilities began on August 23, 2023, under the supervision of L.H.E Construction. Built to enhance the city’s marketplace, the buildings feature modern architectural designs, complete electrical and plumbing systems, and elevator access, ensuring a more efficient and accessible business environment.
During the blessing and formal turnover ceremony, City Mayor Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena extended his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the completion of the project. He also emphasized the crucial role of strengthening local businesses in driving economic growth and further developing the city's trading sector.
Also in attendance were City Vice Mayor Erlinda P. Araquil, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and Mr. Tyron John Villanueva, who represented South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., along with distinguished guests from various institutions.
The completion of the City of Koronadal Central Supermarket Complex marks a major step forward in the city's economic revitalization. With a more structured, accessible, and business-friendly marketplace, local vendors are now better positioned to thrive, contributing to the city's continuous progress.
