The Province of South Cotabato, along with its 10 municipalities and 1 city, has successfully passed the 2024 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) assessment.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 12 recently confirmed that all Local Government Units (LGUs) in South Cotabato met the strict financial transparency and accountability standards required for GFH certification. This recognition highlights their commitment to responsible governance and the efficient management of public funds.

The Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) certification is awarded to LGUs that demonstrate sound financial management practices and strict adherence to government auditing and transparency policies. To qualify, LGUs must:

✅ Receive an Unqualified or Qualified Audit Opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) for the previous year
✅ Fully Comply with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP), ensuring that key financial documents and transactions are publicly accessible

Passing the GFH assessment affirms that South Cotabato’s LGUs are managing public funds with integrity and accountability, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively for the benefit of communities.

With strong financial systems and ethical governance, LGUs can continue funding essential projects, social programs, and infrastructure improvements that uplift the province and its people.

South Cotabato’s 100% GFH compliance sets a benchmark for good governance in the SOCCSKSARGEN region and across the country. The province’s success in upholding fiscal responsibility serves as a model for other LGUs aiming for excellence in financial management.

As South Cotabato moves forward, this recognition reinforces its reputation as a province that values accountability, transparency, and efficient public service, ensuring that governance remains trustworthy, progressive, and people-centered.
