In a powerful message that drew resounding applause from a crowd of over a hundred thousands, South Cotabato Governor and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) President Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. called for unity, gratitude, and collective action toward lasting development during the joint proclamation rally of PFP and United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) candidates held in Cotabato City.
The event was a historic show of solidarity, co-led by Governor Tamayo and UBJP Vice President for the Central Committee Mohagher Iqbal, alongside Bangsamoro interim Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” A. Macacua. A special video message from UBJP President and MILF Chairman Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim was also played during the program, further emphasizing the unified front in this significant political gathering.
In his speech, Governor Tamayo opened with a heartfelt acknowledgment of the hospitality extended by Muslim communities to Visayan settlers like his family decades ago:
He highlighted a shared vision between Muslim and Christian communities:
Tamayo also expressed his admiration for UBJP members and emphasized the significance of their political collaboration:
Recognizing the struggle and sacrifices of the Bangsamoro people, Tamayo honored those who fought for peace, justice, and progress:
He praised the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and the efforts toward genuine self-governance:
However, Tamayo reminded the crowd that the work is far from over, urging closer collaboration between the Bangsamoro Parliament and local governments to ensure sustainable development:
He issued a rallying call, encouraging the people to honor past sacrifices—not with blood or tears—but with their votes:
The joint rally underscored the strengthening partnership between PFP and UBJP, aiming to deliver transformative leadership not just in BARMM and South Cotabato, but throughout Mindanao and the rest of the Philippines.
